Indicator Layering Order
Re: Indicator Layering Order
TradeStation 2000i and TradeStation 8 charting modules overlay colors on top of each other in different ways. To make your charts display properly, so that the support and resistance indicators do not obliterate the price bar, you must add the indicators to your chart in a very specific order, and that order is different for 2000i and TS8. We have assumed that your chart has a gray background, and we suggest that you start with this and the change it later if you wish. If you change the color scheme you may have to change the colors of the indicators and the order in which you add them to your chart to get them to “layer†properly.
For TS2000i add the indicators to your chart one-by-one in the following order:
HTP Envelope
HTP support and resistance
Bar
Envelope
Nearby support and resistance
Further out support and resistance
The 1-1 high and low zones
The 5-1, 5-2, 5-9, and 6-1
For TS8, add the indicators to your chart one-by-one in the following order:
5-1, 5-2, 5-9, 6-1
The 1-1 high and low zones
Nearby support and resistance
Further out support and resistance
