Why not a 5/3 down with a 5/2 up?

There is a 5-3 down but it has no relevance as it does not locate near support....

Text does not say where he bought here, but a reasonable place to buy here would be shown on the attached; the close of weither of those two bars could be justified as a buy, since support had been demonstrated.

Yes, there would be 1-1's throughout, though they are not charted here on these illustrations. Much more on 1-1's in Lessons 6-7.
