The software does contain tools to set up and manage a channel system, and the short answer to your question is yes. However things have moved along a lot since the 'How to... book was written in the last 70s, and the channel system has also developed. Drummond created an envelope based on caluculations which are not necessarily fixed distances, and which are accompanied and integrated with other tools as well. These are included in the set of Lessons and in the book Accumulation and Distribution seminar.
I see that you have also requested the demo disk for the Lessons; this is the preferred route to learning about Drummond Geometry. The material in the "How to" book is a helpful start but is only a start, and there are many important additions to the theory and practice in the intervening 25 years.
