Fatness of a range

by Trader Question
Should the "fatness" of the range of the Nearby Support or resistance be treated as 1-1 zones in that the greater the distance or area between the top and bottom of a Nearby Support range mean the stronger the support and is as long as it is in close proximatety to the close price and vice versa for resistance?
