Indicator Settings

Post by Trader Question »

I was wondering if you could help me out with something on my Tradestation. My indicators do not show up for the upcoming day to
show me where the zones for the following day are going to be.

First, check two settings.

Format/window, set space to the right at 2 or more. This gives you space on the righthand side of the chart.

Second, make sure that in format/analysistechnques/ for each indicator...
/inputs tab, that the BK setting is -1.

I was just wondering if you could help me really quick with something with my indicators for tradestation. I was going over my data with Greg the other day and he noticed that my 1-1 zones are disappearing behind the nearby resistance and support zones. I was wondering if you could tellme how I can fix this so that they go overtop and dont get covered up any longer. I have them different widths and colors so that shouldnt be an issue, I just didnt know if there is something i need to do to make them show up. If you can, please write me back and let me know what I need to do to resolve this situation. Thank you

This relates to the way TradeStation "paints" the indicators, and it does this in reverse order of the order in which they have been added to a chart, so the more recent ones are deeper. To experiment with this try the two indicators on a fresh chart. Load in one, and then add the other, and see how they "layer" Then start again and reverse the loading order. You will get the hang of it... It is a bit counter-intuitive as one would think that
a morerecent indicator would be on top of the last one, but that is not thecase... Of course as you know you have full control over how wide the indicator paints...
